In Kid Nation episode 3, I see imitation stage when the kids decided to have a party. The kids were then imitating the adults of the old west. The imitation stage is when children imitate the behavior of others without understanding the actions (monkey see, monkey do). Because of the kids actions, there are now consequences.
I also see resocialization. The process of adopting new norms, values, attitudes, and behavior. I see this when the city council told the whole town that they needed a bed time. Even though the kids disagreed, the town needed to resocialize to make the town better.
While herding sheep, the pioneers showed play stage. Play stage is when children play pretend and act the way they think others will act. The kids herded as they thought adults would. There plan kind of worked, but they still got there work done .
The kids looked at the council as a reference group. A reference group is a group whose norms and values are used to guide behavior. It's a group with whom you identify. (like 8th graders look up to high schoolers at this time)
